And for what it is, which is fine if one wants to have a beer garden sort of experience, it is too expensive. But it is very far away from being a real restaurant. I would think that one can have a great meal here, especially in the garden when the sun makes everyone smile regardless, and a cheap student lunch menu on weekdays. I understand none of the German chefs like to work weekends. The food was decent but not "big city" restaurant quality as the name would suggest. They failed to show us the children's menu twice although we had our two kids along. The service ethos here is very minimal - seating people throwing the menu at them and then running back and forth between tables and the kitchen to fetch plates, and if one finds time perhaps carry back a dirty plate, or just forget about half of them until one has time again. We once sat in an almost empty restaurant one Sunday lunchtime with very poor service although three staff were present. None of them speak German nor do they understand or know the menu and coud care less for their guests. Staff however are worse than at any Brauereiausschank. Very German menu, even down to the desserts and cakes, which is of course very pleasing, if one comes around for that specifically. Especially great in summer / sunny weather when the outside garden (rear facing) is open. Nice location, roomy inside space with warm, light natural wood tables and chairs, relaxed and spacy feel.
